OptiPAT (2011-2014)

Optical technology for the Process Analytical Technology

Abstract

The PAT (Process Analytical Technology) concept was initiated by the FDA's (Food and Drug Administration) in 2004. it aims at encouraging industrial companies to improve their process understanding, quality control and productivity.

in thus frame, the main goal of OptiPAT project is to develop
in-line analysis tools, based on an optical disruptive technology, including innovative optical measurement solutions:

An « in-line » sensor that allows simultaneous physical and chemical characterisation of products in solid or liquid processes.
A software package for real-time data treatment to control the process.

This project brings together 8 French public and private partners, collaborating to develop applications essentially focused on pharmaceutical and Agro food industries.

The main expected benefits of a real-time product quality monitoring are economic productivity gains and a better understanding of the industrial process in the production cycle and product quality consistency.
