VINNEO: FROM CONSUMER TO THE VINEYARD
Development of technologies promoting the automatic selection of raw material and wine-making process control for wines made of native southwest grape varieties
Led by VINOVALIE, gathering four French Southwestern wineries, the VINNEO project has the dual ambition to develop innovative technologies and implement them to develop a range of varietal wines including organoleptic quality and sensory profiles that should appeal to worldwide consumers in search “pleasure ” wines, mingling typicality, lightness and flavor consistency.
For this R&D project, co-labeled by AGRIMIP INNOVATION and Qualiméditerranée clusters, 10 partners are involved around VINOVALIE: the French Institute of Vine and Wine (IFV), 5 SMEs, equipment manufacturers and engineering companies (PERA, NOVELTIS, ONDALYS, NYSEOS, FORCE A) and four public research laboratories (Institute for Research in Computer Science of Toulouse (IRIT), Laboratory of Chemical Engineering and Biosym CRAO of INP Toulouse and the Agrophysiology Engineering College of Purpan).
VINNEO R&D project outcomes should result for VINOVALIE to a tripling of its export turnover, with 10 M€ in 2015, to provide effective innovative tools to some 540 winegrowers within a brand new wine valorization approach. Thirty highly skilled position openings are foreseen to carry out the R&D project as well as for the commercial deployment phase.
