Monday through Wednesday, October 1-3, the courses will cover the fundamentals of many commonly used chemometric methods such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression. Emphasis will be on applying these techniques in the chemical process and laboratory environment for pattern recognition, instrument calibration, and sample classification. The class begins with a brief review of linear algebra and moves quickly into PCA and PLS.Advanced Preprocessing and Variable selection will also be covered.
On Thursday, October 4, participants can choose between Non-linear Method for Calibration and Classification or Introduction to Hyperspectral Multivariate Image Analysis.
